Hi, I’m Bev…
People’s stories have always fascinated me. I think it started many years ago, listening to my nan talk about living through the war. As she spoke, I could almost picture the smells, the sounds, and what daily life must have felt like back then. Those moments stayed with me, a reminder of just how powerful sharing stories can be.
For over 30 years, I worked in the world of manufacturing medical equipment, where patients were always at the heart of everything I did. Care, precision, empathy, and respect weren’t just important, they were essential. That experience shaped how I listen, how I communicate, and how deeply I value understanding the people in front of me. Then came one of those real “lightbulb” moments. I saw a celebrant at work and something simply clicked. I remember thinking, I could do that. Not just speak the words, but tell the story, honour the moment, and create something truly meaningful.
That’s when I knew this was what I was meant to do, and what a privilege it is. I’ve always been naturally curious about people. “Nosey,” my mum used to call it, and she wasn’t wrong. I love asking questions, listening carefully, and gently uncovering the moments that matter most.
Why I Do This
Being a celebrant is a real privilege. To be trusted with life’s most meaningful moments, celebrating love, welcoming new life, and saying goodbye, is something I never take lightly. Every ceremony I create is written from scratch, with no templates or generic scripts. I take the time to truly understand your story so that what we create together feels personal, authentic, and right for you. Whether it’s a wedding, civil partnership, naming or a funeral, my role is to guide you with warmth, care, and understanding, helping you shape something that reflects who you are and what matters most.
A Little More About Me
I married later in life and am part of a wonderful, blended family. Our grandchildren keep life beautifully busy, and I share my days with Stan, our Border Terrier, or Stanley, usually when he’s misbehaving. When I’m not working, you’ll most likely find me spending time with family and friends or out walking with Stan in all weathers, enjoying some fresh air and a bit of perspective.
Working With Me
From our very first conversation, I aim to make you feel comfortable, supported, and truly heard. I’ll guide you through the process gently, ensuring everything feels natural and never rushed. I believe ceremonies should feel:
• Natural, not staged
• Personal, never generic
• Warm, supportive, and true
If you’re looking for someone who will listen deeply, care genuinely, and help tell your story with honesty and heart, I’d be honoured to work with you.
